For the 11th year in a row, Art Juelfs, Steve Nason and Zak Hicks are credited with being the first folks in the Monroe County Fair's grandstands on Friday morning of Fair Week. They always want to get the best seats to watch this evening's demolition derby. The boys arrive by 10 a.m. to set up their spots in the top row of the 50-yard line view. The event starts at 7:30 p.m.

Sure they could arrive later in the day and still get these seats, but this is a fun-filled vacation day for each of them. They spend the day talking about past years' demo derbies, other events at the fair and catch up on what's been going since last year. Filling up on the wide-variety of fair food is also a highlight of their day. They take turns walking around the fairgrounds to see the exhibits and picking up a plate of food and cups of refreshments.

This year, their friend Steve Sperduto was unable to take part. This past year he moved to Sacramento, Calif. But Steve has been checking in on Facebook with his friends today to wish them well.
