Folks Camp Out For Demo Derby For 11th Straight Year
For the 11th straight year, a group of diehard Monroe County Fairgoers have arrived at the grandstands early in the morning for the demolition derby. This year, Arthur Juelfs and Courtney Sperduto picked out their spot at 9 a.m. They will be camping out the entire day until the demo derby starts at 7:30 p.m. "This is our 11th year of being the first in the stands. It's our fun tradition," said Juelfs.

They put down their beach towels and set up their umbrellas right at the 50-yard line of the main arena.

"We all just take a vacation day and make it an enjoyable time at the fair," said Juelfs. The two said it is not about saving the admission charge, but enjoying a day at the fairgrounds. "It is awesome dining on all the great items served in the food pavilion," he added. "Then we watch as all the trailers bringing in the demo cars start to arrive.
