Valmeyer Mid-Summer Baseball Classic Underway

The boys of summer are in full swing in the heart of old town Valmeyer. For 47 years local Mon-Clair Baseball League teams have squared off at Borsch Park for the Mid-Summer Classic. Teams taking part this year are Valmeyer, Waterloo, Millstadt, Fairview Heights, Cape Girardeau, Belleville, St. Louis Printers and St. Louis Spikes. 

Wednesday, July 4
10 a.m.: Waterloo vs. Valmeyer (consolation)
12:30 p.m.: St. Louis Spikes vs. Cape Girardeau (third place)
3:30 p.m.: St. Louis Printers vs. Belleville (championship) 

Festivities in Valmeyer conclude this evening with a fireworks display at Borsch Park.

Saturday, June 30  

Game 1 - 9 a.m.: Waterloo vs Belleville - Belleville wins 12-7

Game 2 -11:30 a.m.: Fairview Heights  vs  Cape Girardeau   - Cape wins by 10-run rule

Game 3 - 2 p.m.: St. Louis Spikes vs Millstadt  - Spikes win 5-4

Game 4 - 4:30 p.m.: Valmeyer vs St. Louis Printers  - Printers win 7-6

 

Sunday, July 1

Game 5 - 9 a.m.: Millstadt vs Valmeyer 

Game 6 - 11:30 a.m.: Waterloo vs Fairview Heights  

Game 7 - 2 p.m.: Belleville vs Cape Girardeau  

Game 8 - 4:30 p.m.: St. Louis Spikes vs St. Louis Printers  

Wednesday, July 4

Game 9 - 10 a.m. - Winner Game 5 vs  Winner Game (consolation) 

Game 10 - 12:30 a.m.: Third Place 

Game 11 - 3:30 p.m.: Championship
