Waterloo Police Forms Video Sharing Program

The Waterloo Police Department has begun a Security Camera Video Sharing Program designed to deter crime and promote public safety. The WPD is hoping to work with residents and businesses which operate surveillance cameras on their property. When a crime occurs, police will be able to search the registration data of the nearby cameras.

“We hope to collect video evidence and follow up on leads following a crime,” said Waterloo Police Chief Mike Douglas.

Those wishing to register their external video surveillance system can complete a form on the website www.waterloo.il.us, and select Printable Forms.
