Oak Hill Prayer Session
A prayer session is being planned for next week, Thursday, Oct. 8, outside of Oak Hill to show support for residents and staff as they battle a covid-10 outbreak. Citizens are invited to gather outside of the facility at 11 a.m., socially distanced and with protective face masks, to offer their prayers. Local clergy will lead the prayers. “Please bring signs of encouragement and stand outside their windows,” said Kim Keckritz, one of the event’s organizers and recently retired, longtime Oak Hill administrator.
Folks can also pray for the facility’s plight at any time – before and after that planned gathering. Oak Hill is a county-run senior care center located along Hamacher Street on the east side of Waterloo. There are currently 20 Oak Hill residents who have active cases of covid-19 along with four employees. Two residents recently succumbed to the coronavirus.
Staff and administrators are working around the clock to contain the spread.
